Meet Liberty Ross at the kickoff for her new clothing collection.

The model/actress has designed seven fall pieces for premium denim brand Genetic, and she and Genetic’s founder/creative director Ali Fatourechi are slated to introduce the clothes to customers at Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills on Thursday. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Cusp area on the third floor of the store at 9700 Wilshire Blvd.

The capsule collection includes four pairs of jeans, a jacket, skirt and romper. Prices range from $176 to $576. Besides Neiman Marcus, it is available at Curve, Elyse Walker and Ron Herman.

Openings

Desert Hills Premium Outlets has been in major expansion mode, adding 50 new stores. Several -- including Valentino, Alexander McQueen and Rag & Bone -- opened in May. Now Sandro, Maje and Moncler outlets have joined the mix, the mall reports. Desert Hills Premium Outlets is at 48400 Seminole Drive in Cabazon.

The former Barneys Co-Op at the Americana at Brand has been renovated and reopened as a Barneys New York flagship store. The mall is at 889 Americana Way in Glendale.

Women’s footwear store Yellow Box has opened its first concept store in California. It’s at Westfield Topanga Mall, 6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park. Yellow Box is also planning to open a store at Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks sometime in September.

Events

Elyse Walker plans to host a signing event with luxury shoe designer Gianvito Rossi from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 27. The Elyse Walker boutique is at 15306 Antioch St., Pacific Palidades.

Lululemon athletic apparel, Ocean Minded shoes and Nekter Juice are sponsoring a free morning yoga class and beach cleanup from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Santa Monica Beach, in front of the Casa Del Mar Hotel, 1910 Ocean Way. Baby Buggy, a nonprofit dedicated to providing low-income youngsters with school supplies and clothes, is sponsoring an afternoon of kids crafts and fashion in the park at the Grove from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event is to be hosted by Goop editorial director Elise Loehnen and fashion writer Melissa Magsaysay. Crafts include making bookmarks, felt bracelets and labels for books and clothes. There will be a children’s fashion show at 1:30 p.m. featuring looks from Splendid, Gap and Uggs Australia. This week, the Grove is also accepting donations of school supplies on behalf of Baby Buggy. The Grove is at 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles.

Sample Sales

Joie, Current/Elliott and Equipment are hosting a sample sale all this week at 4575 District Blvd. in Vernon. Weekday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Trina Turk is offering samples starting at $30 in a sale scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 3025 W. Mission Road, Alhambra. Womenswear, menswear and swimwear will be available.

Hudson is offering items at 60% to 80% off retail in a sample sale set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 5900 Triumph St., Commerce.

Line & Dot’s summer sample sale is slated for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2807 S. Santa Fe Ave., Vernon. Prices start at $10.

Trunk shows

L.A.-based label Objects Without Meaning is hosting a trunk show at Steven Alan, 123 S. LaBrea Ave., Los Angeles. Label designer Alexandra Michelle will be on hand for the event, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
