When the models took to the catwalk en masse to close Wednesday night’s Christian Audigier show, none of them seemed to notice they had uninvited company — a young man wearing knee-length plaid shorts, matching jacket and a newsboy cap — none of which bore Audigier’s signature crest and crown designs.

Clutching a cellphone in one hand, the interloper managed to walk the length of the runway and halfway back before Audigier associate Renaud Page (CEO of the brand’s energy drink concern) leapt from the front row and body-blocked him off the stage.

The crowd and the models themselves seemed to barely acknowledge the incident, and the music continued to blare as Audigier emerged to take his bow and throw a bouquet of flowers in the air, proving just how hard it is to upstage the eccentric designer.

It was great seeing so many L.A. designers -- all in one place Tuesday night when Smashbox Cosmetics and Fred Segal Beauty co-hosted a soiree at Il Sole in West Hollywood.

Henry Duarte was there, wearing the coolest jeans in the room — a patched together number with a Carnaby Street feel. You’ll remember Duarte made his name designing jeans with the workmanship of couture and price tags to match. For years, his boutique was on Sunset Boulevard just next door to Il Sole, but he left the denim biz to lead Trunk Ltd., the company known for creating high-end rock n’ roll T-shirts, which he intends to turn into a lifestyle brand, and show at fashion week next season.

Petro Zillia’s Nony Tochterman, in all her pink-haired glory, is another L.A. fashion star sorely missed on the runways. She said she had to forego a show this season in order to focus on her newly-opened Third Street boutique, as fun a place to visit as you’d imagine from someone with such a colorful vision.

Also spotted at the dinner: Jennifer Nicholson, Jeremy Scott, Christina Ehrlich, David Cardona and Jenni Kayne. Scarlett Johansson was hiding in the back room looking uncharacteristically unglam in jeans, with her hair pulled back. She didn’t cop to wearing any particular designer which was probably smart, considering how many there were in the room.
