You too can be a Showstopper

The red carpet is generally a place where celebrities dazzle in a blinding pop of paparazzi bulbs and beaded gowns.

But now the people who get the stars red-carpet ready are taking their own slice of the spotlight. The latest are makeup artist and Lorac cosmetics founder Carol Shaw and stylists Estee Stanley and Christina Ehrlich, who have combined their celebrity dressing know-how and created the Showstopper Palette for Lorac. The beaded black case of four shimmery eye shadows and a matte blush is fashioned after Stanley and Erlich’s vintage-inspired clothing line, Miss Davenporte, complete with a ‘50s-style, rhinestone-buckle band around the box and both brands’ names emblazoned in silver just below the buckle. The colors reflect what the women think will be hot on and off the red carpet this fall (and they’re neutral enough to suit most faces).

With so many stylists reaching far beyond the length of a steamer cord these days, who knows what’s next? A collaboration with a celebrity cosmetic dentist for a line of glam veneers?
