FASHION EVENTS

Wet n Wild Memorial Day Weekend Beach Party, May 26-27: The drugstore makeup and nail polish brand is on cross-country tour in a vintage purple Airstream. This weekend, the Wet n Wild motor home will be parked at the Hermosa Beach Memorial Day Fiesta, offering free samples, mini makeovers, tips and tricks alongside the event’s lifeguard competitions, volleyball tournaments, live music and local art. Do we really need to say anything else after “lifeguard competitions”? The rolling party heads to Santa Barbara next.

MOCA on Melrose Place, May 22: Melrose Place, the quaint little street where designer boutiques are in no shortage, is having a block-party blowout (with valet parking, naturally) where you can shop well, eat well and feel great about yourself too. Seventeen designer boutiques including Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Marni, Oscar de la Renta, Me&Ro and John Frieda Hair Salon are donating 10% of sales to the Museum of Contemporary Art, which means you’ll be advancing nationally recognized Art Start Programs in public schools. Appetizers from Dolce Ristorante and desserts by Sweet Lady Jane will be offered at the Melrose Avenue end of the street. The first 400 shoppers that night get a gift bag. And the charity doesn’t end Tuesday: Mention MOCA any day after until Friday when you present plastic to a participating shop on Melrose Place, and they’ll donate 10% to the MOCA program.

Get on the list by calling Michelle Bernardin at (213) 633-5318 or RSVP to projectscouncil@moca.org. Melrose Place at La Cienega Boulevard, West Hollywood; 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
