4: Join the L.A. Urban Rangers on a hike from the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA to the L.A. River. Participants will “journey through the riparian corridor of art, industry, and infrastructure to explore the past and future of the L.A. 5: Ceviche is the perfect summer food. Today, Gilberto Cetina, chef-owner of Chichén Itzá restaurant in the Mercado la Paloma near USC, will teach you how to make it in a cooking class at the restaurant. It’s $75 and you can bring a noncooking friend for an extra $20.
6: Katy Perry plays the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live tonight. Expect preening, prancing, and if you’re lucky, some sort of simulation of fireworks exploding from her chest.
