Venice Film Festival style watch: Naomi Watts

The 69th Venice Film Festival is underway in Italy, and all eyes are on the red carpet. Kristin Scott Thomas turned heads in a silk, paisley print dress from the Giambattista Valli resort 2013 collection; Winona Ryder appeared statuesque in a black lace Dolce & Gabbana gown; and Naomi Watts looked radiant in a beige Marchesa frock at the opening ceremony.

High fashion is taking center stage at the festival, but the stars are getting style nods for what they’re wearing off the red carpet as well. From the moment she stepped off the gondola at the Hotel Excelsior, Watts has been nothing but chic. The British actress, who stars is the upcoming film “The Impossible,” was photographed arriving in black skinny jeans, a plain white tee, short boots, a beige blazer, straw fedora and bright purple sunglasses. It was the perfect summer-to-fall transition wear -- light layers and sun-friendly accessories.

Watts’ outfit is full of staples that will work in any season. For a pair of wear-anywhere jeans, check out Old Navy’s women’s rockstar super skinny jeans for $32.50.
