Coachella fashion kicks off with Haute Betts jewelry party

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, the three-day, two-weekend music fest that takes place in Indio, is still a little more than a week away, but the fashion festivities have already started in Los Angeles. Haute Betts, an L.A.-based jewelry brand designed by Heather Betts, kicked off the Coachella season with a pre-’Chella soiree at the Petite L’Ermitage in West Hollywood on Tuesday evening.

L.A. stylist and blogger Sydne Summer, TV personality Diana Madison, celebrity stylist and designer Joey Tierney and more stepped out to fete the line’s new spring/summer 2013 collections.

The pieces looked like they were made for the free-spirited style that has dominated past Coachella festivals -- flowing maxis, booties, flowers in your hair and as many accessories as you can handle. All of the pieces in the Haute Betts collections are made to be layered. There are mixed beaded bracelets, spiked bangles, chunky gold pieces, woven fabric bracelets, pinky rings and Coachella-ready headpieces.

Highlights included the Ceremony necklace and bracelet, the Sunset body and hand chains and the Raven bracelets made with rose-gold-plated chains with suede string woven through. Actresses Alexis Knapp and Hana Mae Lee were spotted at the bracelet bar arming their wrists with the Raven bracelets, the After Dark mixed bead-and-spike sets and the line’s infinity bracelets. The beaded skull bracelets were also a big hit.

To get into the Coachella spirit, guests could visit a table set up with faux flowers and ribbon to make their own flower wreaths. Girls in floral maxis, leather jackets and strappy sandals were seen leaving with arms full of bangles and flowers in their hair.

It was a scene straight out of the Coachella Valley with a backdrop of the Hollywood Hills.
