Could fashion photographers be the next big design collaborators to make a dent in the shopping scene?

Peruvian lensman Mario Testino is launching the MATE collection exclusively at Net-a-porter.com on June 5, sampling his colorful images of traditional Peruvian textiles on cool kaftans, totes, clutches and scarves that fit perfectly with summer’s beachy, boho vibe.

The pieces feature abstract and enlarged sections of Testino’s exhibition, “Alta Moda,” which opened April 18 at Avenido Pedro de Osma in Lima, Peru.

“Alta Moda” is a series of portraits of Peruvians wearing traditional attire from the region of Cusco. To create the images, Testino traveled to Cusco several times over a five-year period after discovering an archive of costumes from the region, according to news materials.

The capsule collection also includes jewelry designed by Vicki Beamon (of Erickson Beamon) with a modern take on Peruvian craft.

Testino’s book, “Alta Moda,” will also be available for purchase on Netaporter.com June 5. And 20% of net sales will be donated to the nonprofit MATE Cultural Association, founded by Testino in his native Lima.

The Mario Testino MATE collection will range from $75 to $1,380.
