Happy Inauguration Day.

Regardless of our political differences, we can always count on food to bring us together.

Which is why we came up with six of our favorite recipes from former presidents and first families.

Recipes to celebrate today’s Inauguration »

If you’re looking for a hearty main course to celebrate the inauguration of our 45th president, consider the filet of beef with three peppercorn sauce, which was served at George W. Bush’s first inauguration in 2001. (Want to enjoy your steak like Donald J. Trump? Simply cook it to well done.)

If you’re craving comfort food, consider the old-school chicken casserole credited to former First Lady Pat Nixon and daughter Julie.

And don’t forget to whip up a batch of Mamie Eisenhower’s fudge. Because, well, nothing bridges a divide — political or otherwise — like chocolate.
