Porchetta roast: Cecconi’s is hosting its third annual porchetta roast commemorating Ferragosto, an Italian holiday, on Sunday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. For $30 per person, dinners get porchetta, a deboned pig stuffed with garlic, rosemary, fennel and herbs and roasted over an open fire; apple sauce; wood-oven roasted potatoes and pork crackling; and a glass of Prosecco. 8764 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, (310) 432-2000.

“Check-In for Charity”: Erewhon Natural Foods, an organic grocery store, will donate a meal to Delancey Street for every Facebook check-in at Erewhon during the month of August. The Delancey Street Foundation is a nonprofit residential self-help organization for substance abusers and the homeless. Wine Bar at Coco Laurent: Coco Laurent’s new sommelier Henri Marquis is opening its wine bar. Focusing on French wines with California and Spanish influences, the list includes offerings such as the Louis Barthelemy “Brut Saphir” Millesime 2006, Domaine de Bonserine Condrieu 2010 and Domaine Anne Gros Echezeaux Grand Cru 2008.
