Caulfield’s and beer, Tomatomania, Dominick’s pig roast -- with wine

Rooftop beer dinners: Starting today, Caulfield’s Bar and Dining Room is hosting a dinner every Friday for eight weeks in conjuction with a craft brewery and Seoul Sausage. Four beers from each week’s featured brewery will be paired with the three-course meal and specialty items from Seoul Sausage. The brewery line up is El Segundo Brewing Co., Eagle Rock Brewery, Monkish Brewing, Stand Brewing, The Bruery, Ballast Point Brewing and Beachwood BBQ and Brewing. Tomatomania: The Lotería Grill Hollywood is celebrating tomato season with Tomatomania from Aug. 3 to 11. A special tomato menu will be avaliable, with dishes such as heirloom tomato salad with pomegranate seeds, quesillo Oaxaca, ancho chile and citrus vinaigrette; chongos with heirloom tomato compote; and tomato and watermelon agua fresca. In addition to the tomato-centric menu, there will also be a tomato brunch on Aug. 3; a “Roma-therapy” book signing with author Paul McCullough and dinner featuring recipes from the book on Aug. 6; and, on Aug. 8, a Five Tomatoes Dinner of five different tomato varieties prepared five different ways by five different chefs for a five-course meal. 6627 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, (323) 465-2500.

Swine and Wine: Dominick’s is hosting its annual pig roast on Aug. 1 with a seasonal six- course menu and wine pairings from Palmina Winery. The menu includes lettuce with roasted apricots and housemade almond milk ricotta; Japanese yellowtail with melon, crispy speck, and cayenne peppers; buckwheat cavatelli with wood grilled mushrooms, dandelion greens and crème fraiche; roasted pig with corn polenta and charred eggplant; and rustic plum tart with marscapone gelato.
