Wine tasting of the week: Tasting Alley at the new Wine Exchange

To celebrate the merge of Bestwinesonline with the longstanding OC wine shop Wine Exchange, creating the new Wine Exchange, partners Kyle Meyer and Tristen Beamon are holding a party and charity wine tasting on June 13.

For the event, the two are turning the alley where they receive wine deliveries behind the Santa Ana store into an impromptu tasting room.

They’ll be pouring more than 30 wines from such stellar producers as Joseph Phelps in Napa Valley, La Rioja Alta in Spain, Weingut Dr. F. Weins-Prüm in Germany’s Mosel, Fattoria Felsina in Chianti, Château La Fleur Moranges in St. Émilion, Paitin di Pesquero-Elia in Barbaresco and more at the “Tasting Alley.”

Each $40 ticket comes with a coupon for a burger, cheeseburger, veggie burger or chicken sandwich from Orange County’s TK Burgers, which will be on site with one of their trucks.

All the monies raised at the Tasting Alley event will be funneled by Share Our Wine Foundation to Project Hope Alliance, a charity that supports the more than 30,000 homeless kids in Orange County.

So raise a glass or many glasses to help out homeless kids and at the same time, discover some wines to drink over the summer.
