Tomato tasting at Loteria Grill: Loteria Grill in Hollywood will host the annual Tomatomania Southland tasting on Saturday. Chef Jimmy Shaw will share some of his best tomato ideas. Pop-up dinner at Barney GreenGrass: Beginning Sunday, Vertical Wine Bistro’s chef Laurent Quenioux is hosting his next series of pop-up dinners, LQ @ Barneys, at Barney GreenGrass. The five-course menu offers an amuse bouche of black sesame icream; cold poached maquereau with goat cheese varnish brulee; fried green tomato with lemon crème fraiche; veal sweet bread karagee with pistachio smear; rabbit pies; and a dessert of chipotle, chocolate, lime and serranos. Quenioux’s cheese selections also will be available. Wine pairings and full bar options; corkage fee, $20.
