Coming to the Taste: Jordan Toft

Share

Jordan Toft, chef at ever-popular Eveleigh, began his career as a chef in Australia working with Peter Doyle, one of the founding fathers of modern Australian cuisine. Six years later Jordan ran an up-market chalet in the French Alps and then became a personal chef to a Saudi businessman. This position allowed him to travel to Italy, off the coast of Spain and Paris.

Toft is the executive chef at Eveleigh on the Sunset Strip, which Times restaurant critic S. Irene Virbila praised as “appealing and familiar, comfort food for the 21st century in Los Angeles. It’s the kind of food anybody would enjoy, a combination of small and large plates, so you can come in for a drink or a glass of wine and have a couple of bites, or you might wind up deciding to spend the evening and dine with a group of friends inside or out.”

Toft will be taking part in a panel discussion on farmers markets at the Field to Fork portion of the Taste on Sept. 1. Tickets are $65 and are available, along with more information, at the Taste website.
