Valerie Confections hosts annual fall open house through Saturday

Now that Thanksgiving is past, it’s time to start thinking about end-of-the-year festivities and special holiday treats. You might want to check out what Valerie Confections has in store this year at the Los Angeles-based confectionary company’s fourth annual fall open house.

On Thursday (today), the Westlake neighborhood shop (near the corner of Virgil Avenue and Beverly Boulevard) will host tastings of tea-infused truffles. On Friday, owner Valerie Gordon will present her premium loose leaf teas in flavors such as Blushing Betty, Toasted Fig and Blood Orange & Black along with petits fours to complement them.

On Saturday, she breaks out her holiday confections — peppermint bark, nougat finished with edible gold leaf, and a sumptuous Noir & Blanc fruit cake.
