SEE-LA’s Farmer’s Kitchen: new year, new classes

Share

The Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles (or SEE-LA), a non-profit community development corporation that launched the Hollywood Farmers’ Market, has a project called the Farmer’s Kitchen which offers classes on cooking and preserving. The community kitchen has just announced what’s in store for the new year:

On Jan. 26, the Farmer’s Kitchen will be offering a class on pressure canning. Preservers can learn how to can more than jams and pickles by adding soups, meats and vegetables to the D.I.Y. store-away list. Classes offered in the months following include pickling, vegetable-cooking techniques, jam making and more.

Classes at the Farmer’s Kitchen are $100 per person. Space for each class is very limited, accommodating about 8-12 people. Sign up online.
