Gardeners have been patiently waiting for this moment in time.

Some call it the start of spring. The rest of us call it the start of tomato season.

Expect all kinds of gardening advice on harvesting bigger and better crops, tips on container gardening and seedlings for sale, along with the inside track on in-demand varieties.

And yes, of course, tomato grower extraordinaire Scott Daigre, author of “Tomatomania,” will be there.

Where: Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge

Cost: Admission is discounted to $5 for “Tomatomaniacs” who bring a screenshot or printout of the Tomatomania web or Facebook pages.
