In the first, OrthoTec LLC v. Surgiview S.A.S., Ross and partner Benjamin Scheibe secured a $48 million verdict for OrthoTec over a fraudulent transfer of assets; OrthoTec also received prejudgment interest, which it estimates would have raised the award to $75 million (OrthoTec ultimately settled). In the second, Neurovision Medical Products, Inc. v. NuVasive, Inc., Ross and partner Keith Wesley obtained a $30 million verdict for Neurovision over a trademark infringement.
“These results demonstrate that we can hold our own against anybody in terms of both strategy and written work,” says Ross, who points to the talent of lawyers like partner Eric George, a current member of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals’ Advisory Committee and former counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. “We’ve never had a better staff or a deeper bench of highly skilled lawyers.”
