NEW YORK & LOS ANGELES - EPIX will be the title sponsor and official broadcaster and streaming partner of the annual Los Angeles Times Envelope Screening Series, Young Hollywood and Directors Roundtables. The announcement was made during a Times party for entertainment industry executives at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif.

One of the world's most recognized news organizations, The Times series of unique and intimate awards season conversations with Hollywood's biggest talents will be added to EPIX's impressive slate of feature films, concerts, comedy specials and original programming. EPIX, a joint venture between Viacom's Paramount Pictures, MGM and Lionsgate, was the first premium network delivering content to subscribers online via EpixHD.com, On Demand, and on EPIX apps on hundreds of devices including Xbox consoles, Roku players, iPads and iPhones, Android devices and more.

"The partnership with the Los Angeles Times is a perfect way to bring all movie fans closer to the films they love and provide an intimate and immersive experience with the talent that created these great projects. EPIX is excited to present these interviews and sessions on all of our broadcast and digital platforms," said Mark Greenberg, EPIX CEO.

"As Hollywood's hometown news source, the Los Angeles Times hosts some of the highest-profile events during the run-up to Oscar," said Times Vice President, Film Advertising, Francie Berns. "We're thrilled to align with EPIX to expose new audiences to our exclusive events and behind-closed-doors chats."

The Envelope Screening Series presents at least a dozen awards contenders to guild and Academy voters at ArcLight Cinemas Sherman Oaks. Screenings are followed by revealing Q&A discussions with the casts and creators, moderated by Times journalists. The schedule is expected to kick off on October 25th with the breakout Sundance hit "The Sessions," director Ben Lewin and stars John Hawkes and Helen Hunt. Films screened over the past five years have gone on to amass 149 Academy Award, 104 Golden Globe and 76 BAFTA nominations and included the four most recent Best Picture Oscar winners.

The Times' Young Hollywood Roundtable, a part of November's annual AFI FEST, will have its third incarnation in 2012. In prior outings, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, Carey Mulligan, Evan Rachel Wood and Anton Yelchin have joined in lively, public discussions on life in the industry with Times moderator Amy Kaufman. The Envelope Directors Roundtable, soon to celebrate its 4th anniversary, brings together each season's filmmaking titans in a candid, closed-door conversation about their careers and acclaimed films with The Times' John Horn. Past participants have included Ben Affleck, Darren Aronofsky, Kathryn Bigelow, James Cameron, Lisa Cholodenko, George Clooney, Ethan Coen, Stephen Daldry, Lee Daniels, David Fincher, Michel Hazanavicius, Tom Hooper, Alexander Payne, Jason Reitman, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino.

Each event will be live-streamed via EpixHD.com and an embedded EPIX video player at latimes.com/entertainment and latimes.com/theenvelope. Select clips and highlights will subsequently accompany latimes.com stories and will be available across all EPIX platforms: on air, On Demand, online and on EPIX apps.
