Dumping on Dubya
After last week’s big Iraq three-year anniversary blast, the cartoons were all about W, as in war. His poll numbers languishing, the president took to the road to try to hit the high notes.
Watching the presidential speech tour, cartoonists took notes and hit — what else? — the low road!
Before Air Force One could reach top speed, cartoonists hit mock one. After all, we live to throw people’s words back at them in pictures.
Rob Rogers gave Dubya the uncivil war treatment, evoking the blue and grey in black and white. Kevin Siers quoted him in perfect out-of-context. Matt Davies either deftly countered White House anti-media spin or provided another illustration of it.
