El Modena (2-1 in league) led, 1-0, at halftime. But Villa Park tied the score on Sartori’s first goal midway through the second half and took a 2-1 lead when Cascio scored five minutes later. Sartori scored his second goal with four minutes left in the game.

Visiting Poly (10-4-1, 4-2) pulled within two points of first-place Cabrillo and Wilson with the victory. The loss snapped Cabrillo’s 11-game unbeaten streak. The Jaguars, the No. 6-ranked teamin the Southland by The Times, are 17-2-1, 5-1.

Long Beach Wilson 2, Long Beach Jordan 1
Wilson (9-6-1, 5-1), the defending Division I champion, moved into a first-place tie with Long Beach Cabrillo with the victory. Jordan is 3-12, 0-6.

Edison 2, Fountain Valley 1 (OT)
Ian Cone scored on a header seven minutes into the first of two 10-minute overtime periods to help Huntington Beach Edison beat visiting Fountain Valley.

The goal, Cone’s seventh of the season, was his second of the game and came 12 minutes after he scored on a right-footed shot that tied the score, 1-1, with five minutes left in regulation play.

Edison (16-1, 5-0), the No. 4-ranked team in the Southland by The Times, has won each of its league games by a goal, with three of those victories coming in overtime.

“I keep telling the guys that I’m going to look a lot older by the end of the season the way we’re going,” Edison Coach Josh McLeish said.

Fountain Valley (14-3-1, 3-2), ranked fifth in the Southland, took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick by Sean Keeley 15 minutes into the first half. The penalty kick was set up when an Edison defender was whistled for a hand ball in the penalty area.

Kevin Fronk scored in the second 10-minute overtime period to lift visiting Huntington Beach (2-3 in league). The Oilers squandered a 2-0 halftime lead built on a goal by Colton Smith and a Marina own-goal.
