Anastasia Alen and Negar Kehan won, 8-6, in the No. 3 doubles match to clinch the victory for Taft (3-1, 1-0).

WESTERN LEAGUE

Palisades 6, Westchester 1
Palisades (2-2, 1-0) only lost six games in sweeping its doubles match in the victory over the Comets.Simone Greene defeated Contessa Brown, 8-4, in a No. 1 singles match in the loss for Westchester (2-2, 0-1).

Venice 7, L.A. University 0
The No. 3 doubles team of Lindsey Cohen and Leslie Quintanilla won, 8-0, to lead Venice (4-0) in the league opener for both teams. Venice also had No. 3 singles player Kristi Hamilton win, 8-2, and No. 4 singles player Lauren Yoshikawa triumph, 8-1. University falls to 1-1, 0-1.

Tricia Gandela won at No. 2 singles, 8-0, to lead visiting L.A. Marshall (1-2, 1-0) in the victory over Belmont (1-3, 0-1) at Echo Park.

VALLEY MISSION LEAGUE

Mary Phan and Mariya Stepanenko won by injury default after leading, 7-3, for Reseda (4-0, 1-0).

Nilufar Izadpanah and Mariel Guerra defeated Gisselle Jaen and Veronica Perez, 8-0, to lead host Van Nuys (3-1, 1-0). Monroe is 0-1 in league.

Freshman Domyta Dauigoy won her varsity debut, 8-1, over Sylvia Alboniga to lead Birmingham (2-1). Lourdes Menendez won, 8-0, at No. 1 singles to lead Poly (0-3).

No. 1 singles player Karina Pikhart defeated Elizabeth Lim, 8-7 (7-0), and the No. 3 doubles team of Alice Yeh and Esther Park defeated Wendy Duong and Silvia Kim, 8-7 (7-5) for Cleveland (1-1) in a victory over visiting Verdugo Hills (0-3).
