Shopping Spotlight

Because Las Vegas is a gambling town, retailers often have to up the ante and create a shopping atmosphere that entices consumers to leave the excitement of the casino floor and venture toward the mall. That means that storefronts must be over the top and interiors must be visually explosive.

Three new stores are making a fashionable impact by providing consumers with a sensory shopping experience that’s every bit as alluring as the hoots and whistles of a slot machine: Aldo, L.K. Bennett and Express.

There’s always been an Aldo at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood (3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South), but the retailer has taken over a new, larger space and created an atmosphere that is fresh, lively and reflective of today’s tech-oriented world. With oversized high-definition monitors showcasing hypnotic stop-motion fashion imagery, the new Aldo at Miracle Mile Shops is a must-stop-shop.

With almost 160 stores already open across the globe, the new L.K. Bennett boutique inside the Forums Shops at Caesars (3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South) is Las Vegas’ first and the West Coast’s second. To stand out from the crowd and create its own unique aura, the British label – a favorite of Kate Middleton – enlisted architect Tiziano Vudafieri to design an elegant shopping space filled with beige woodwork and 1950s-inspired furnishings all set against a powder pink backdrop.

But the new store that really takes the fashion cake is Express at Fashion Show Mall (3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South). Now located in a 15,000-square-foot space, Express has crafted a visually stunning shopping experience that is perfect for couples shopping together. With a gigantic storefront that is as jaw-dropping as it is neck-straining, this new Express is destined to become not just a place to shop, but a tourist attraction, as well.
