For the record
Online sales taxes: An Aug. 31 article in Section A about California’s effort to crack down on Web retailers that don’t collect sales taxes said that the California Board of Equalization was spending $10 million over the next three fiscal years to hire nearly 100 tax specialists, auditors and other personnel to collect Internet sales taxes. The correct three-year total is 35 people at a cost of $10 million for the period.
MTA chairman: In the Sept. 16 Section A, an article about Crenshaw Boulevard referred to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as the chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority board of directors. Villaraigosa served in that capacity until July of this year. County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich is the current MTA chairman.
Teacher evaluations: An article in the Sept. 15 LATExtra section about teacher evaluations and the low likelihood of a strike in Los Angeles gave the first name of instructor and TeachPlus member Kyle Hunsberger as Karl.
