Sexual harassment: An article in the Aug. 13 LATExtra about a sexual harassment claim against Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar incorrectly characterized the outcome of a harassment case against former Councilman Nate Holden. Although Holden was cleared in one lawsuit, a second case was settled by the City Council for $175,000.

Engineering for girls: An article in the Aug. 12 LATExtra section about a Cal State Long Beach program that introduced engineering to homeless girls said that the program included 13 teachers from the Los Angeles Unified School District. The teachers were from the Long Beach Unified School District.

John Palmer: The obituary of longtime NBC News reporter John Palmer in the Aug. 7 LATExtra section said that he left NBC in 1990 to anchor the syndicated news program “Instant Recall,” where he interviewed figures including Anwar Sadat. The Egyptian president was assassinated in 1981.

Willie Nelson’s “Stardust”: An article in the Aug. 9 Calendar section about Willie Nelson’s Hollywood Bowl performances of his 1978 album “Stardust” misspelled the surname of composer Richard Rodgers as Rogers. Also, the story said that Nelson’s single with Waylon Jennings “Good Hearted Woman” reached the top spot on the country singles chart in 1975. The record entered that chart in 1975 but did not reach No. 1 until 1976.

Verdi’s “Requiem”: An article in the Aug. 11 Arts & Books section about Verdi’s “Requiem” said that the piece premiered in 1872. The first performance was in 1874. We also got a bit carried away with our Italian suffixes when illustrating a dynamic marking of quadruple fortissimo. Verdi’s original marking, quadruple forte, was ffff, not ffffffff.
