Khanh Nguyen: The obituary in the Jan. 27 California section of Khanh Nguyen, a South Vietnamese general who briefly gained control of the nation’s government, included a photograph that was identified by the Associated Press as Nguyen but was actually another, unidentified, man. Nguyen’s photo appears at right.

NAMM convention: An article in the Jan. 28 Calendar section on the National Assn. of Music Merchants convention in Anaheim said that the Who’s Pete Townshend received the Les Paul Award during the TEC Awards presented by Mix Magazine. Mix is no longer involved in the TEC Awards, which are now presented by the TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio.

SAG Awards: An article in the Jan. 28 Calendar section about what went on backstage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards misspelled the first name of “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm as John.

SAG fashion photos: In the Jan. 28 Calendar, the photos of Jessica Chastain, January Jones and Marion Cotillard on the fashion page of the Screen Actors Guild Awards coverage were credited to Mark Boster of The Times. The three pictures were taken by Allen J. Schaben of The Times.

College-prep courses: A chart that accompanied a Jan. 28 article in the LATExtra section about the push for college-prep courses in L.A. Unified high schools incorrectly showed that 34% of San Jose students who graduated in 2011 had completed such courses. The correct number is 36%. Also, one of the article’s authors, Sarah Butrymowicz, was identified as a reporter with the Hechinger Foundation. She is a reporter with the Hechinger Report, a nonprofit, nonpartisan education news outlet based at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Mayor’s race: An article in the Jan. 26 LATExtra section about fundraising in the Los Angeles mayor’s race said Wendy Greuel had $101,000 in unpaid bills to Eric Garcetti’s $45,000 after the period that ended Jan. 19. In fact, the unpaid bill totals were $16,027 for Greuel and $140,524 for Garcetti.

Beauty products: An article in the Jan. 27 Image section about beauty products for winter said that Wakaya Perfection can be combined with other ingredients to become a facial scrub. The combination becomes a body scrub.
