Arnold Schwarzenegger: In the June 26 Section A, an article about former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s support abroad on climate-change issues said that he was the first Republican to win statewide office since 1998. In fact, Republican Steve Poizner was elected Insurance Commissioner in 2006.
Death penalty trial: In the June 19 LATExtra section, an article about the murder trial of Heriberto Eddie Rodriguez said that he had slashed a fellow prison inmate in the shower with a razor blade. Prosecutors say the attack was made through the bars of Rodriguez’s cell, not in the shower.
Hospital bill: In the June 25 Business section, a column about UC Irvine Medical Center billing a new charge nearly two years after treatment stated that hospital spokesman John Murray said he had no idea when the hospital’s online “patient portal” would be operational. Murray said Tuesday that the portal is up and running.
