| Every room of every home contains an array of toxic substances. About 83,000 chemicals are in commerce today and many of them are used in consumer products. Examples include chlorine in laundry products, phthalates in perfumes, bisphenol A in canned beverages and foods, brominated flame retardants in furniture and lead in old paint.
