Santa Barbara sculptor Laura Lynch created a 10-foot-tall piece out of rubble from the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, which was heavily damaged in the Jesusita fire last May. The piece, which incorporates the charred door of a garden truck, a melted windshield, rain gutter from a garden building and other objects, will be among dozens in a benefit show put together by a Los Angeles nonprofit that helps victims of fire, called ART from the ashes.
