Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes in Kern County

A shallow, magnitude-3.2 earthquake centered in Kern County was reported Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:21 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was eight miles from Bodfish, Calif., 24 miles from Tehachapi, 31 miles from Arvin, 33 miles from Lamont and 263 miles from Carson City, Nevada.

In the last ten days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
