1.4 quake strikes near Meiners Oaks
A shallow magnitude 1.4 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning three miles from Meiners Oaks, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:06 a.m. PDT at a depth of 6.8 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 13 miles from Carpinteria, 14 miles from Ventura and 16 miles from Santa Paula.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
