A shallow magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon 16 miles from Redwood Valley, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:36 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 22 miles from Ukiah, Calif., 38 miles from Clearlake, Calif., 57 miles from Healdsburg, Calif., and 99 miles from Sacramento.
