Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Ridgemark, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Tuesday evening eight miles from Ridgemark, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:06 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 11 miles from Hollister, Calif., 17 miles from Salinas, Calif., 17 miles from Soledad, Calif. and 130 miles from Sacramento.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
