A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Saturday evening 28 miles from Lone Pine, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:30 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 47 miles from Ridgecrest, Calif.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
