A man who barricaded himself in a Winnetka home for about five hours Thursday morning has been taken into custody, officials said.

Police evacuated the immediate area in the 8600 block of Fullbright Avenue as they tried to lure out the man, who officers believed was armed.

The initial call came in about 5:15 a.m., and two hours later, police called SWAT officials for assistance.
