Mike Feuer continues to lead Carmen Trutanich in fund-raising
Challenger Mike Feuer continues to lead Los Angeles City Atty. Carmen Trutanich in fund-raising, reports filed late Thursday showed.
According to documents the campaigns sent to the city Ethics Commission, Feuer, a former city councilman and past member of the state Assembly, raised $208,753 during the latest reporting period, April 7 through May 4, bringing his total for the upcoming general election to $524,776. Trutanich brought in $109,897 during the same period, for a total of $313,497.
Both candidates have received an additional $350,000 in public matching funds for the May 21 general election.
Feuer had $126,053 left in his treasury by the end of the reporting period; Trutanich had $83,885.
After he was sued earlier this year by a Trutanich supporter accusing him of violating city campaign laws, Feuer formed a legal defense fund. A separate report filed Thursday showed the fund has raised $38,500, paid $35,000 in legal fees and owes $49,119 to the firm handling Feuer’s defense, Manatt Phelps & Phillips. Feuer has denied any wrongdoing.
