Light showers fall in Santa Clarita; cooler weather to continue

A few light showers were reported in the Santa Clarita Valley on Tuesday evening as a low-pressure system settled over the Los Angeles area and brought cooler weather to the region.
The system dropped about a tenth of an inch of rain in mountain areas in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, according to the National Weather Service.
The system was moving into the eastern San Fernando Valley on Tuesday evening.
Agency meteorologist Scott Sukup said the Los Angeles area could expect temperatures below normal through Thursday, as well as light showers in the afternoons and evenings during the same period.
On Tuesday, temperatures were in the upper 60s along the coast and in the low 70s in inland areas, the Weather Service said.
A warming trend was expected during the Memorial Day weekend with temperatures in the 80s in valleys and inland areas by Friday, according to the Weather Service.
