Sheriff’s deputy shoots person in Carson
A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded an unidentified person during a confrontation in Carson, authorities said.
The shooting occurred in the 23900 block of S. Marbella Avenue about 12:50 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. Few details were available about what prompted the shooting but the injured person was identified as a “suspect” in a brief statement issued by the Sheriff’s Department.
The individual was taken to an area hospital, but the person’s condition was not immediately known.
Sheriff’s detectives were on scene Sunday investigating the incident.
Officer-involved shootings are investigated by the county district attorney, the sheriff’s homicide bureau and its internal affairs bureau, according to the brief statement.
