Father fatally stabbed in July 4 Eagle Rock altercation
A 53-year-old father was fatally stabbed Saturday night when he stepped in to stop an altercation between his son and two others, Los Angeles police said.
The incident occurred about 7:55 p.m. near the intersection of North Figueroa Street and La Loma Road in Eagle Rock, said Officer James Richter, an LAPD spokesman.
The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the man’s son or his condition were not immediately known.
The two male suspects, ages 25 and 45, fled to a nearby residence and were later arrested, Richter said. Their identities have not been released.
The motive for the crime remains under investigation, he said. No other details about the incident were available.
