Fugitive barricaded in apartment in downtown L.A., police say
A fugitive wanted on a felony arrest warrant was holed up Tuesday morning in an apartment in downtown Los Angeles, police said.
The LAPD’s fugitive task force spotted the man about 5:40 a.m., said Officer Liliana Preciado, who said she could not say whether the man was considered armed and dangerous or what crime he is wanted for.
It was unclear whether the entire apartment building was locked down or just the apartment they believe he is holed up in.
“Whatever building it is, they have units around the area,” she said.
Police shut down traffic on 7th street between Hope and Flower streets. A SWAT team was at the scene and KABC-TV Channel 7 reported that a bomb squad was en route.
