The Green Line has been shut down between Los Angeles International Airport and the Hawthorne/Lennox station because a person was standing on a railroad bridge between the stations, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a call of a person threatening to jump from the bridge over the Aviation Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue intersection about 11:30 a.m., a department official said. The intersection was shut down Thursday afternoon.

The person did not jump, police said.

Metro officials warned riders to expect major delays. Buses are operating between Redondo and Douglas stations, Metro officials announced on their Twitter account.
