A probation compliance check led Glendale police to an indoor marijuana farm in a converted Sun Valley garage, police said in a statement released Friday.

While checking for Andrey Arutyunyan, who was on probation for a narcotics violation, officers detained three people early Thursday in a house in the 900 block of Lanark Street, the statement said.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers recovered 200 marijuana plants, cash, packaging materials and five pounds of packaged marijuana. A pistol-grip shotgun and a 40mm handgun were also recovered.

Armen Simonyan, 27, Michael Petrosian, 28, and Marine Petrosian, 24, were arrested on suspicion of cultivation, drug sales, and identity theft and fraud violations.

A search of Simonyan revealed he was in possession of fraudulent identification and credit cards as well as other items related to identity theft, police said.

Glendale officers had located evidence indicating Arutyunyan had ties to the residence, but he was not present at the time of the investigation.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power disconnected electrical service at the residence due to a $4,000 pending payment and illegal electrical work, police said.
