Police investigate fatal shooting at Koreatown bus stop
A 28-year-old man was shot and killed at a bus stop in Koreatown early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The man was sitting on a bus bench on the northwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue when two men ran toward him and shot him at 1:06 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Eyewitnesses told police that the two men then ran to a black pickup truck and drove west on Wilshire.
The Los Angeles Fire Department found the man dead at the scene. His name will not be released until his family is notified, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office said.
Police do not know the motive for the shooting, LAPD Officer Drake Madison said.
According to The Times’ Homicide Report database, there have been six fatal shootings in Koreatown this year.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the LAPD’s Olympic station at (213) 382-9102.
