Join Times staff writer Eryn Brown for a discussion at 9 a.m. Monday on the complexities -- financial and emotional -- that arise for many Californians who now qualify for Medi-Cal under Obamacare.

The expansion of Medicaid -- called Medi-Cal in California -- has been touted as a great success of the Affordable Care Act.

Brown reported recently that while for many who are needy, learning they’re eligible for the usually free program is a relief, but the news isn’t wholly welcome for others.
