College student shot dead outside his Lakewood home; two men sought
Police were looking Friday for two men involved in the slaying of a Lakewood college student who was fatally shot outside his home.
Police said two men walked up to Cyrus Alva, 19, as he stood outside the home he shared with his older brother in the 3700 block of Arbor Road, and shot him.
Alva was pronounced dead at the scene, and the two men fled in what Sheriff’s Department officials described as a white, four-door Toyota Camry.
Alva’s friends and family told KTLA-TV that he loved skateboarding. Police said they did not believe he was part of a gang.
“He was a good boy, he was good for anyone,” his mother said.
“He was a friend of the community, everyone loved him,” one friend said.
