Former Lakers and Clippers forward Lamar Odom pleaded no contest Monday through his attorney to one count of driving under the influence and was sentenced to three years of probation and three months of alcohol abuse treatment.

Odom, 34, must pay $1,814 in fines in connection with his August arrest by the California Highway Patrol in the San Fernando Valley.

The husband of Khloe Kardashian was due in court Wednesday, but his attorney entered an early plea. A second hearing will determine the status of his California’s driver’s license.

Odom refused during an Aug. 30 stop to take a blood or alcohol test, a decision that usually automatically leads to losing a license for a year.

Odom was driving about 50 mph in his white Mercedes in the early morning hours when he was pulled over on the 101 Freeway. CHP officers said he was driving in a “serpentine manner” and continued past several freeway exits while authorities tried to pull him over.

Odom showed signs of intoxication and could not pass field sobriety tests, a CHP report said. He refused all chemical tests at Van Nuys jail.
