Enjoy Monday’s warm weather because a ‘cold snap’ is coming
A “very cold” low-pressure system swooping in from the Arctic will bring colder than normal temperatures to Southern California this week, so forecasters say to enjoy Monday’s warm weather while it lasts.
The high in downtown Los Angeles on Monday is projected to be 77, but the rest of the work week will be in the low 60s, said weather specialist Stuart Seto of the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
“Today will be the last of the warm ones,” Seto said.
The normal high in downtown L.A. for this time of year is 73, which means that after Monday it will be about 10 degrees cooler than normal.
Although Seto said that the low-pressure system is “going to bring a cold snap to our area Wednesday through Friday,” he also said the system will not carry much moisture.
There is a chance of showers Tuesday in Los Angeles, he said.
Seto said Southern Californians might want to “wear a jacket and maybe grab an umbrella Tuesday into Wednesday.”
