Reporting from San Diego — Two San Diego police officers were arrested Thursday on suspicion of possessing and selling drugs.
Jennifer Charpentier, 41, and her husband Bryce Charpentier, 32, were arrested as part of a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department drug investigation.
Bryce Charpentier, a six-year veteran of the San Diego Police Department, was booked on charges of possession and sales of a controlled substance, along with charges of conspiracy and being under the influence while in possession of a loaded firearm.
Jennifer Charpentier, an 18-year veteran of the police department, was booked on charges of conspiracy and possession and sales of a controlled substance.
Both arrests were made without incident, the Sheriff’s Department said.
San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman immediately placed both officers on leave and revoked their police powers. The department is “fully cooperating” with the Sheriff’s Department and is “in complete support” of the investigation, Zimmerman said.
