High-speed chase suspect tries to elude LAPD on skateboard; fails
A car theft suspect tried to elude Los Angeles police on a skateboard after he ditched his BMW following a high-speed chase in Van Nuys.
Most of the pursuit was captured by news helicopters; the skateboarding aspect drawing a lot of attention from social media to what was otherwise a typical police pursuit.
LAPD got a call of a stolen car about 3:30 p.m. and tracked the suspect until be bailed out of his car and tried to skateboard away.
He was finally apprehended at Cantlay Street and Woodley Avenue after a civilian trapped the suspect with his truck.
No other information was available because the man was still being booked as of 4:30 p.m.
