Detectives investigate suspicious death in El Segundo

Homicide detectives were investigating “suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death of a man Sunday in El Segundo, authorities said.
About 2:55 p.m., the unidentified man died in the 1700 block of East Sycamore Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy Amber Smith said.
Initial reports indicated that the man was fatally shot, Smith said. Detectives later retracted reports of a shooting, indicating only that the details of the man’s death were unclear.
